Looking to squeeze in an end-of-summer Florida getaway? Consider the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, located on 15 lush acres just minutes from Orlando's line-up of attractions. The resort boasts 36 holes of championship golf, six restaurants, a spa, evening kids' camp, and a pool complex that
includes a lazy river and zero-entry family pool with waterslides. Throughout the summer, the resort offers up Splash Party Weekends, complete with poolside races, scavenger hunts, sidewalk chalk contests and “dive-in” movies.
The Omni Orlando is running special end-of-the-summer pricing, with advertised starting nightly rates of $99. When we test-booked, though, we found spotty availability, and nightly rates starting at $109. If you'll be traveling for the holiday weekend, take a look at the resort's Labor Day Weekend promotion instead: available September 1-6, it offers a sliding discount on room rates based on the number
of nights you stay. Stay one night and save 10% off the regular rate;
stay two nights and save 20%; stay three nights and you'll save 30%. We found the discount on "deluxe" and "premier" room categories.
When we test-booked the promo, we found a deluxe guest room for $98 a night—which indeed beats the best available rate of $109 a night by a clean 10%. Stay three nights and the nightly rate drops to $76. With the promo your stay will total $229 instead of $327, a savings of 30%. (The premier rooms run $10 more per night.)
Both offers are good until September 6 but are, as always, subject to availability. Book online or call 800/THE-OMNI and mention the Omni Orlando's "Labor Day Weekend" promo.
