Nothing says “happy family vacation” like an extra room at night. Kauai’s plush Koloa Landing Poipu Beach Wyndham Grand offers plenty of that: The 85-villa resort just off Poipu Beach has one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, each with plushly equipped kitchens (hello, sub-zero fridge), laundry and giant lanais. The resort, which claims to have the biggest square-footage suites on the island, also has a family pool, waterfalls, a gym, free wi-fi and an onsite marketplace where you can dine or gather supplies for your suite’s kitchen; the resort is also walking distance to a new shopping center with restaurants.
This summer, Koloa Landing is offering a Kids Stay Free package that gives families even more elbow room at night, as well as discounted together time during the day. Starting at $249 a night, the package includes:
- automatic upgrade to a two-bedroom suite, when you book a one-bedroom suite
-
free water activities for a child—surf lessons, snorkeling or scuba sessions—alongide each paying adult participant (a surfing lesson, for instance, normally costs $79/person )
When we test-booked some dates, we found one-bedroom suites normally going for $299, and a two-bedroom suite for $369 a night, so you're saving about $70 a night, or almost 20% on the room alone.
Deal or no deal? We take issue with the name of this promo since, technically, kids always stay free here. Even so, the promo kicks in a substantial amount of value through the discounted room rate and an extra bedroom, which always comes in handy. Plus, you can use the water activity perk as many times as you like, too, so you’re saving 50% per adult-child pair when you choose to make use of them.
The Kids Stay Free deal is available for booking and travel through August 31. Use promotion code PKGKIDS when booking online, or mention the deal when calling 888/317-0205.
