With airlines feeling the economic pinch over the past two years, passengers have felt the squeeze with ticket prices going through the roof.  This has especially been the case on flights to the Caribbean, where getting a family there will often cost more than staying there.  Luckily, the Bahamas tourism board's free companion airfare offer is back on the table—this time for travel through June 30, 2011. 

The deal is good on air-inclusive vacation packages purchased directly through the tourism board's reservations center. When you book a stay of three or more nights (there's a four-night minimum from December 23 to February 16, 2011) at any of the nearly three dozen participating hotels, the price of the companion airfare (less taxes and fees) will be deducted fom the total package price.  A tip: the promo is based on number of rooms booked, not number of people. That means if you stay in a two-bedroom unit, you'll get two free plane tickets.

The fine print: The offer is subject to availability and is valid for departures from continental US airports only. Blackout dates are: November 23-29, December 23-January 2, and March 3-April 30.
