Ready to act fast for a huge discount on a hotel stay for this fall, winter—or even next spring? We spied an amazing offer on Travelzoo:  RockResorts—a chain of luxury resorts with locations in  Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Wyoming and the Caribbean—is offering  up to 80% off on hotel rates if you book by tomorrow night. Those two little words, "up to," always raises suspicions—can you really snag a room for 80% off the regular price? 

We tried it at Snake River Lodge and Spa in Jackson Hole, just 55 miles from Yellowstone. The 143-room, AAA 4-Diamond resort has skiing in the winter and  hiking, biking, fishing, and golf in the warmer months. When we test-booked for a family of four, we were directed to a deluxe room with two beds for $132 a night—down from the regular rate of $265, which translates to a 50% savings.

It’s hard to argue to with a half-price deal, especially when these deals are valid during ski season. But we did notice a bit of buzzkill: at almost every resort, there is an extra $20 to $30 daily resort fee added to the rate. Still, to be fair, you’d pay that if you booked at the regular rates.
