Booking a hotel can feel like a cat-and-mouse waiting game: Wait long enough before you reserve and prices may go down, but wait too long and your choice of rooms might disappear. Rancho Mirage’s Rancho Las Palmas, a classic, hacienda-style resort in the Palm Spring area, is tweaking traveler's sense of gambling fun with "Deal of the Week" program this fall. Starting today, the resort will offer a different deal each week.
Rancho Mirage is firmly entrenched in salubrious golf-tennis-spa territory, but this 444-room resort just finished a $35 million makeover that includes some strikingly family-friendly features: a Kidtopia Kids Club (for ages 4 to 12) and a new, two-acre water complex called Splashtopia that features two waterslides, a 425-foot lazy river, a water play area, and a sandy beach, alongside its four pools, classic golf course, tennis courts and its Spa Las Palmas, which was voted "Best of the Valley" by Desert Magazine for two consecutive years. Here's the lineup of weekly deals:
- Oct 13-18: 50% off all room rates
- Oct 19-25: Stay 3 nights, get free dinner, golf, or spa for two
- Oct 26 - Nov 1: Rates from $149 + breakfast or lunch for two
- Nov 2-8: 50% off second item of your choice: room, spa, golf, dining, retail
- Nov 9-15: Pay for 3 nights, get 5 nights (40% savings)
- Nov16-23: All previous offers are on the table
Regular rates start at $265 a night for dates in November and climb to about $350 a night by January, the start of desert high season. We also spotted good discounts you could score right now without any weekly deal. For example, you can snag a "Fall Savings" discount of 40% off on three-night stays (a savings of at least $320), which rivals the deal offered from October 19 to 25 (since massages in the spa, for two, could top $300). Anyway you look at it, these are great prices for high-end Palm Springs this time of year—just remember to factor the resort's $25-per-day resort fee into your budget.
