Wyoming’s Paradise Ranch  is tempting cowboy wanna-bes into the saddle this summer by chopping up to 50% off its all-inclusive rates. The 180-acre dude ranch in the Big Horn Mountains offers 18 classic log-cabin accommodations, horseback riding, fly-fishing and lots of wide open spaces. Its extensive kids' program lets little dudes spend their days hiking, fishing, learning cowboy history or just chasing chickens. While the kids’ program is mainly geared to kids 6 to 12, there's daily, on-site babysitting for children 3 and under, and pony rides for kids 4 to 6. There's also a teen program that features daily lessons and activities and an overnight camping trip.

This summer’s discounts range from 10 to 50% off regular rates, depending on which week you book. That half-price discount is for last-minute vacations for the weeks of June 14-21 or June 21-28. The discounted price works out to $937 per adult (down from $1,875) and $875 per kid 6 to 12 (down from $1,750), which brings a weeklong vacation for a family of four down to $3,625.

Can't move that fast? The next-best bet for savings is the week of July 5-12, where rates have come down 30% to $1,312 per adult and $1,222 per child. That translates to a savings of $2,180 for a family of four. During the ranch’s peak season, from July 26 to August 16, the discount ranges from 10% to 20% off regular rates.

The price includes lodging, all meals, and all riding and other activities for a full week.  A few of the 18 cabins have been here since the original owners starts housing guests in the early 1900s, but they have been nicely updated to the 21st century with full kitchenettes, bathrooms with showers, washer-dryers, fireplaces and decks. Cabins range from one to four bedrooms and feature a sofabed in the living room. Meals are served in the original ranch house, and nicely blur the line between cowboy and chi-chi: biscuits and gravy, hickory-grilled burgers, shrimp kabobs, with bacon-n-cheddar polenta.
