Hyatt family package is packed with added value

A travel package is only a deal when it puts enough dings to your bill to actually make a difference. The "Classic Family Vacation," good at 175 Hyatts around the world, varies slightly by property but always delivers a good-value boost. At the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale (see our review), the package includes:
  • full breakfast for all registered guests (worth about $48 for a family of four)
  • free kid's dinner per paying adult (worth about $10/child x 2 kids = $20 savings for a family of four)
  • 15% off dining
  • 25% off spa services (treatments start at $165, so you save at least $41 per treatment)
  • free kids’ round of golf per paying adult (normally $50/person in the summer)
  • free full day for one child at Camp Hyatt (usually $80)
  • 50% off second room, including free breakfast for up to four kids.
At other Hyatts offering this package, in some cases the spa discount is lower (down to 15%) and the Camp Hyatt freebie perhaps only good  for a half day.

When we compared rates online at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale, the package rate was $20 a night more than the regular room rate ($139 compared to $119) for a room with two queen beds. That $20 is money well spent, considering all the dining perks you know you’ll use. The free family breakfast, free kids' dinner, and dining discounts are easily worth $100 a day for a family of four.  That's before you count the half-price second room, spa discount, and free golf and kids' club sessions. The hotel even throws the family dog a bone: Sparky can stay for just $25 a night, down from $50.

This package is good through September 7. Book online using code FAMVAC, or call the reservations line at  888/414-9288 or 41-HYATT and ask for the Classic Family Vacation offer. To grab the 50% discount on a second room, you'll need to book by phone.
