Late spring packages at Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park is getting a head start on summer by trimming room rates and bundling in some good-value extras at five lodging facilities from May 1 to June 17. Though technically those dates fall in late spring, the Summer Getaway Packages are available at the front end of Yellowstone's summer pricing season. These packages include two nights of accommodations, two breakfasts per adult, a welcome gift, and a “Summer Fun” card good for a 10% discount on in-park food, gifts, and tours.

A two-night stay in a lodge room at Old Faithful Snow Lodge, the newest of the park’s full-service hotels and an award-winner for its design, would cost $179 per adult, with up to two kids under 15 allowed to stay for free. A family of four would pay $358, which is a savings of about $44 ($22/night x 2 nights) off regular room rates. Figuring that breakfast for two adults might normally cost $80 ($40/day x 2 days), the savings over two days climbs to $124 before factoring in the 10% discount on your other meals, souvenirs, and tours.

Slightly more expensive variations of these packages include in-park tours.  While the Summer Getaway packages are valid from the lodges’ openings through June 17, note that some lodges don't open until late May. Check the fine print for deposit and cancellation policies.
