Heading to Tahoe in March? A new promotion can help families shave costs on a spring ski getaway. More than 20 South Lake Tahoe lodging properties, six recreational outlets, and two restaurants have come together for a Kids Stay & Play promo that offers complimentary lift tickets, meals, and other freebies for kids if you visit before March 31. Frankly, the "kids stay free" part of the promo isn't such a big deal, since kids typically stay free in the same hotel room with their parents. The big savings is in the free lift tickets for kids under 12 at two area ski resorts, Heavenly and Sierra-at-Tahoe, which you can snag if you choose accommodations at one of the participating lodging partners. A one-day child's lift ticket normally costs $45 a day at Heavenly and $17 a day at Sierra-at-Tahoe. The promotion also includes free kids' tickets for snowmobiling, lake cruises, bowling, and skating, and kids can also dine free at two participating restaurants when parents purchase an adult meal.
