Even in Orlando, a town known for hotels with amazing water playgrounds, the 200-acre Marriott Orlando World Center Resort is a standout. The pool complex features a million gallons of water, with four pools, two kids' pools, and six whirlpools. The showpiece is the huge, lushly-landscaped lagoon-shaped waterfall pool with multiple cascades and a 106-foot
waterslide. Kid-centric poolside diversions include beach ball drop, limbo contests, sidewalk chalk
art, scavenger hunts, dive-in movies, and more.
The hotel just announced a terrific two-room package deal that's available during the holiday season and throughout May 3, 2009. You get one night's accommodations in a resort view room with one king bed plus a guaranteed connecting room with two double beds for $269 to $524 per night. When we price-tested this deal on five different dates between December and the end of April, we couldn't find a room for less than $249 a night. That means this deal is essentially a twofer: You can get the second room for as little as $20.
We have to admit that we were skeptical at the outset. Typically, when a hotel woos families by offering a break on a second adjoining room, you still end up with a massive pricetag at check-out. But this looks like the real deal: Two rooms for practically the price of one.
To book this deal, call 888-99-World and mention code LLR. The fine print: You need to book at least three days ahead, and the package is subject to availability. Translation: Book as early as possible or this deal will be gone.
