Hawaii's tourism is suffering these days, mainly because of airline route cutbacks. The upside for travelers is a plethora of deals. Ohana hotels on Hawaii's Oahu is offering deals at its mid-range hotels all the way through December 21, 2009. The best: Book three nights and you'll get your fourth night free, with regular rates starting at $119 a night. The deal lowers your rate to an average of $90 a night. 

Of Ohana's four participating hotels—all in Waikiki—the 500-room Waikiki West scores kid-friendly points with us for having plenty of rooms with kitchenettes, a big pool, and an on-site Chili's, not to mention being within a 20-minute walk to the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium and, of course, the beach. (Like most of its sister hotels, it also offers free trolley services along Waikiki's main drags.) If you stay at the West hotel you have another enticing option: the West Food Pantry Package (similar to the Shop Around at the other hotels): Book a standard kitchenette room (starting at $119 a night, and featuring a fridge, tableware and a two-burner stove) and and you get an auto-upgrade to a City View Kitchenette room and a $15 daily credit at the Food Pantry market across the street—as well as a dozen other markets, gift shops or coffee joints—to keep your crew well-equipped with breakfast foods, snacks, and the all-important macadamias to take home for Grandpop.
