Families looking for an all-inclusive getaway in Costa Rica should know that there will be one less option as of December 1. Following a $12-million top-to-bottom makeover, the Hilton Papagayo Resort in Costa Rica will change to traditional (read: a la carte) pricing for stays. But until then, rates from $239 per night, per person get you the full tropical experience: breezy open-air lobby, natural volcanic sand beach, a brand new "Kidz Paradise Club" for kids 4 to 12 with games and nature walks, and a choice of renovated rooms, bungalows or new junior suites with private plunge pools and ocean views. Once the switch happens on December 1, room-only rates will range from $309 to more than $610 a night.
