They're cool! They're clean! And they've become one of the hottest ways to explore cities around the world, from Washington DC to Paris. Segways are self-balancing electric-powered scooters that are fun to ride and eco-friendly. Tour companies have jumped all over them as a unique way to show visitors around their towns. And yet visitors to San Francisco were not satisfied. What did they want? More hills! And the most-requested route of all was down the famed Lombard Street, "the crookedest street in America." Thanks to the arrival of Segway's latest PT i2 model, with LeanSteer™ technology for improved maneuverability, that wish has become a reality. The Electric Tour Company has just introduced a Hills of San Francisco and Crookedest Street Advanced Segway Tour for ages 12 and up. The tour is a two-hour rollercoaster ride around town, going to many spots generally not accessible by tour vehicles. The route takes in Aquatic Park, the slopes of Russian Hill, Lombard Street, Telegraph Hill, North Beach (aka "Little Italy"), Pier 39, and Fisherman's Wharf. The new tour costs $75 per person, but you can shave $5 off the price by buying online.
