The San Francisco Chronicle recently came up with a list of top 10 family destinations in Mexico, noting that "Mexico is one of the best places in the world for a family vacation. Mexicans revere children and shower them with special attention in restaurants, at dances and even in bars." These "best of" lists are always subjective and never definitive, but they still can be useful and fun. Many folks might find it bit surprising, perhaps, that the No. 1 spot went not to a beach town but to Mexico City. Second place honors went to Cancun, home of myriad resorts, including the family-friendly Club Med Cancun Yucatan (see our review).
